Saveurs

Yesterday lunch: This is our second time to this restaurant, a French restaurant can be said, acceptable. The price not too expensive but brings a delicious french cuisine from a French chef and originated from Bordeaux France. It can be said to be scared of getting to the French restaurant, after all, the impression of French cuisine is so expensive.
Saveurs facade is also not changed, and a familiar feeling. Coincidentally is the same as with the table and position on our first visit. Saveurs decor is very simple, a bit small and a few tables and chairs, but also people felt at home "homey" a warm and comfortable feeling.
*Starter*
French baguette serve with butter and olive tartar
Pumpkin soup, I'm not sure about this soup, because there is no pumpkin flavor there are no unpleasant taste of carrot. It taste there's nothing so special but for the price just like that, what more you can asked for.
*Appetizer*
Quiche it was served hot!
Salmon pudding, was very tasty as was the quiche!
A double extra order of pan seared goose liver on plate were serve with carmelized apple and salty-sweet taste of sauce. The price is around NT$400 per sliced included the service charge. This appetizer is not include on the lunch set menu for NT$400 plus service charge. This is the reason why we still want to come back here because of the  foie gras. And this foie gras for us, is better than the pure made terrine foie gras of Le Bistro de L'Olivier in Taipei and Le Jardin de Giverny in Taichung. But Saveurs foie gras is quite fresh and unique smell that kind of indescribable satisfaction.  And fried ripe apples of the dissemination of seductive fruit and taste marvelous.
*Entrees*
Duck breast with sweet fruit taste and balsamic vinegar sauce (I guess) excellent and simple as well
Lamb shank had tender fall off the bone meat which you'd expect and had enough flavour serve with delicious potato tower as what is the same with the other main meals.

Pan fried seabass it can be satisfied
Beef steak in gravy sauce is fine.
*Finale*
A notable dessert was the chocolate moelleux outflows in vanilla sauce it was sweet and quite simply but deliciously devine.
Puddings are also extremely good here
I had a peach tart for dessert, not spectacular, but still very good.
Coffee or tea for everyone. Everything seemed to be in order and we were actually able to enjoy food here except for the soup. The service was good, the food was good and the prices weren't bad. This is a great place for business lunches, anyhow it was a pleasant experience for us  overall.

Golden Mountain Fine Arts & Lifestyle

Golden Mountain Arts and Lifestyle restaurant is filled with old-fashioned tables complete with wooden chairs, red lanterns on the ceiling, well spaced seating, some Chinese art to reminiscent  the traditional old fashioned Chinese ambiance. The restaurant's interior is cast in an unpretentious light of a humble background, gardens, and fish pond, coupled with auspicious roof tiles and wooden ceiling exerting the true Chinese heritage. It is definitely the ambiance and architecture of this traditional style restaurant that is the main attraction.
We had a previous dining experienced here, in fact this is already our fourth time's, and here we are again! we came back for afternoon break. The set tea menu is the same meal on our first time we had an afternoon tea. A combination of set menu deal with bread tossed, Chinese dessert, Chinese tea in hot or cold, a scoop of haagen dazs ice cream, dim sum is more appropriately known as small portions of Chinese delicacies, is probably the proud signature cuisine of the Chinese culture. Foods were way better than last time which is still not too bad. Although the taste has nothing so special but for the price it was pretty good and pretty good serving size too.
Since the weather today a  bit warm is good to have a glasses of iced beverage. Milk tea, iced plum shake juice, iced coffee
Fried silk thread roll very crunchy is a deep fried version of steamed silk threads bun. Best served with sweetened condensed milk and peanuts powder.
BBQ pork buns are one of my favorite Chinese snacks and I was determined to try them again at our next visit. This little steam heated piece of heaven which I never failed to have each time we eat in other Dim Sum restaurant also.
Deep fried shrimp and sesame rolls, again this was really crispy and chewy.
Juicy,4 small one an order of pork dumplings, served with ginger and dark Chinese vinegar sauce.
Turnip cake
Red bean coconut jelly pudding so cool and refreshing.

福大將 Fu Generals Tonkatsu

We had lunch  just 10 hours ago at a Japanese restaurant in Hsinchu downtown just beside the Hsinchu Garden. I'm afraid to say it is similar and I misinterpret with Azabu Sabo version. But Azabu Sabo which specializes in dessert and ice cream as well as traditional snacks and quick meals. And if you are looking for optional Japanese Tonkatsu  restaurant in Hsinchu  this is the right one,  though it's easy to find Japanese restaurant in Taiwan.
Fu Generals Tonkatsu are also provided a sophisticated and large selection of Japanese meals than Azabu Sabo. I'm not sure how else to describe Fu General Tonkatsu shop than to compare it to Azabu Sabo. They both offer through affordable degustation menus, the service is good, the interiors were clean and simple and reflected the casual dining theme.
Each table had stood a sesame sauces and tonkatsu sauce to access on your own taste.
Japanese tea with oriental aroma
*Jap's Tiny Appetizer*
Very delicate soft and refine texture "Cold tofu" served with Japanese soy sauce sprinkle with bonito flakes and spring onion! simple and lovely, I think it's a dish suitable for a hot summer.
Sweet black beans is one of my favorite Jap's appetizer on this Tonkatsu shop were especially good and huge.
Fresh white radish sprinkle with Japanese spice in sweet and sour taste, is very simple but something I very much like.
Shredded raw cabbage sprinkle with sesame sauce or tonkatsu sauce that leaves a fresh taste on the palate.
*Tokantsu Sauce*
As you wait for your meal  the waiter will serve, the toasted sesame seeds in a mortar and pestle, to be grounded till fine then mixed in with the katsu sauce for a added hint of taste and fragrance.
Tonkatsu sauce comes with Japanese mustard a thick black Japanese worcestershire sauce.
*Main Meals*
"Tonkatsu curry" the curry they use is flavorful and thick, which goes great with the rice and tonkatsu. Since Charles so hungry he never let us to try.
"Grilled Salmon" serve with rice the grilled salmon was quite nice and fragrant as well, cooked with the flesh still tender and not too dry it's like melting in your mouth.
Grilled beef in rice served with egg nothing so special but nice.
*Last Items*
We ordered a resembled dessert was a cherry pie,  a green tea cake and rich chocolate brownie topped with generous scoop of ice cream, cheese cake. It wasn't as original cheese cake variants but it was a satisfying ending.
Creme brulee include on the set meals.
Hot coffee for finale.
For a dish that is so simple it packs a lot of flavor, and is very enjoyable to eat. If you have a hankering for something a little different in Hsinchu from your typical plate katsu, then this is certainly a good choice.

London Tea House Taipei 101

We finally selected is the Taipei 101 in London Tea House United Kingdom State tea for our lunch this weekend, yes, we are not going to drink only a tea we had our full set main course. London Tea House is easy to recognize, on the fourth floor of  the central open space, this large open space for people and feeling very comfortable.
Package priced at noon here around NT$ 300 ~ 500, but also not expensive. Noon; not so many people, I think people come here to drink for afternoon tea or drink tea's at anytime. First impressions were good, the decor is impressive and the service was above average.
Following is the package accompanying of set meals is the cream of corn soup, very rich but also very plain. Here you can see quite a European-style dishes, giving the feeling like the exposure to the English court.
To start our meal we had a small amount of salad, likewise is similar with other restaurant
Soup
Followed by bread, roasted and crunchy but soft.
*Main Course*
Spaghetti carbonara
Spaghetti seafood in saffron sauce,,, quite dry!
Me and Charles we had their Hungarian seafood with cream risotto rice,,, all of our main course it was so plain, so so as we describe it. After the meal is the time for tea. Charles and his father had their both of hot milk tea, and cold milk tea for Claire, and I had a fragrant herb tea, serve in elegant teapot British style of painting a very delicate teapot that people can enjoy.

Strawberry tart filled pastry cream and a tower of fresh strawberries.
The raspberry macaroon layered cake on the right, it was unbelievable...Worth every calorie!
Opera rich and dense blend of chocolate ganache and espresso butter cream between layers of almond sponge cake
