Chateau In The Air

Chateau in the Air is located in Liyutan Miaoli beside the Mingde Reservoir and as soon as you enter gate of this restaurant you find yourself in a completely different and rustic setting with garden, woods, trees and stones to display a dainty combination of designs. From Chateau in the air  is a premiere dining destination in Miaoli it was full when we get there. This restaurant had the most extensive menu that we found and had something for everyone.
We start with a trio platter which was soft brioche garlic bread, noodles in sweet and sour lime sauce and shrimp cracker with tuna mayo sauce. It was pretty tasty and a nice way to start the meal.
We had the cream corn soup which was ok and acceptable with hints of pepper, but it lacked salt.
Then we were served a vegetables salad with Japanese dressing and as part of set menu. We didn’t enjoy this as much because the lettuce wasn't even that fresh!
For the main dish: Me and daughter we had a duck breast in apple sauce with some vegetables. The duck it wasn't roast or pan seared which was deep fried and is quite overcooked. Nonetheless, the meat was very tender and the sauce's flavors worked nicely with it crisp skin.
The grilled salmon fillet served over a creamy seafood risotto rice, the salmon was fresh a very rich dish.
The pan seared king prawn  served on top of cream sauce on a bed of seafood risotto were the same as in the salmon.
And for the desert was panna cotta with caramel and whipped cream on top it was so creamy and yet still fulfilling.
We both had a drinks for the last meal, we were served with milk tea, black tea and coffee, a nice way to end a meal. Final Impressions: We enjoy the openness of the restaurant. It has a bright, airy, cheerful vibe and would have been a very comfortable green and none polluted atmosphere. As for the food it was good but not as good as we expected. However we still love to come back again!

Skylark California Cuisine FE 21 Hsinchu Branch

After the renovation of this restaurant we revisited Skylark California Cuisine and considered to be our favorite hang-out for fine dining and impressing with both ambience and cuisine therefore its crowded  and noisy especially during weekend. The Skylark is located at 4th floor of Far Eastern Shopping Center and the venue has the same standards as Cafe Grazie are both exceptional when it comes to quick and efficient service.
We had a 5 course meal that starts on appetizer and we had a sauteed mushroom with shrimp and garlic flavour. One of my daughter favourite starter here so simple yet so delicious.
Smoked salmon with ex.virgin olive oil and aioli. The mixture flavor of oil and the chunks tiny slices of shallots, tomatoes and olive that tasted really good on my salmon salad.
My son number 1 choice is the deep fried shrimp with potato and tartar basil sauce. The shrimps and mashed potato plus the mayo with basil tartar sauce equals a very tasty treat.
Seasonal fruit salad with yogurt dressing. A sweet and mix of good lettuce and fruits segments and chopped of walnut, all tossed in a pleasant creamy dressing.
We had a free selection of delicious soup for one of those unnecessary but tasty in between courses. I order the pumpkin soup and added with pumpkin seeds texture and I definitely need the vitamin A. I have eye problem since last week, the pumpkin soup was light of pure pumpkin flavors.
Clam chowder, which was pretty good and light not quite thick but plenty flavorful.
The minestrone soup topped with bread was nice too!
French onion soup it was not thick of onion though the soup was decent.
We were served of assortment slices of warm bread with sweet cream cheese spread and it was a delicious way to start with soup.
For our main courses; I had Beef tenderloin it was flavorful-meaty but in a falling apart and juicy way. The terrine, made with mushrooms and roasted potatoes. The wasabi was mild flavored and along the sauce and with sliced zucchini served as a perfect counterpoint to the steak.
Catfish with spicy Paprika cheese sauce. The fish fillet was soft-moist and wrapped in sliced of potato. The sauce was very tangy and flavourful.
Wild mushroom & chicken pilaf, this was a very good rice. It’s a chicken stuffed with mushrooms and some veggies serve with grated cheese. The rice cooked in perfection and it was so delicious.
Valencia paella with it's mix of fresh seafood and crunchy rice is a delicious too.

Since no day is complete without dessert. I had a mixed fruit parfait, which was nice and full of ice cream, fresh fruits and toast of corn flakes with strawberry sauce on the bottom. I just think twice about the calories of this one. I could not resist not to try for once. It was very nice, and certainly one could feel very proper going for this option.
Baked brown sugar peach pudding was deliciously sweetened by a mixture of brown sugar, butter, and peach served with generous scoop of ice cream and vanilla sauce. Nothing could have been more delicious, the simple things in life are quite often the best.
Warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. It complimented nicely with vanilla ice cream.
Apple millefeuille with brandy-Anglaise sauce & lime-caramel sauce. The Apple puff pastry was sweet filling with apple sliced on top of pastry and a crunchy, flaky not-too-sweet with a scoop of ice cream and caramel brandy is perfect combination.
We ended off with drink they do offer specialty drinks . I always go for teapot of chilled fruit tea with a sweet tangy taste of oranges.
Blended juices of orange-apple and pear-apple juice. This glasses of drinks is basically an iced drink made with 2 fresh fruits blended with iced . Overall the lunch it was a very satisfying meal and the perfect amount of food with great value. Something to recommend for those who do not know yet about Skylark after all these years we never disappointed each time of our visit.

Skylark California Cuisine

It's a good day and had lunch with my husband at Skylark California Cuisine. A restaurant can mean a different type of foods with  inexpensive and very affordable price dining set menu. But we preferred the grand menu as always sometime the set menu is limited. But the food here is very healthy and appetizing. It has a lot of improvement on their menu since the last time we eat here, the grilled N.Z. steer tenderloin steak with coleslaw homemade cheese sauce is very tender and juicy. Skylark it has a 2 branch in Hsinchu. 1 is in Xida Road at Far Eastern Department Store and another 1 is located at A.Mart and B&Q in Gongdaowu just one block away from our condominium.

Observatory Buffet Restaurant at Sky Tower Auckland

A whole family romantic dining experience with magnificent views of Auckland, take a ride up the Sky Tower to The Observatory Restaurant, offering a full all you can eat and combination of sumptuous brasserie-style buffet, stunning seafood specialties and offering an extraordinary amazing night view of the city. However the food is good, but some of the foods should have to reduce the saltiness and high sugar on the menu. The point is to ensure peoples healthiness.
360 degree over looking view of Auckland and candle light with butter and mix seafood tartar paste and its really quite so salty.
Some foods that I take as soon as we arrived in the restaurant.
N.Z ham, another salty flavor on our dish
A bunch of fresh shrimps
Fresh oyster
An extra order on our table "Crispy soft shell crab" serve crusted with cajun polenta, Bavaroise of calamansi yoghurt & tomato cilantro jelly, and its quite delicious.
Lamb, scallops and ham
A bunch of sweet and fruits
Assorted salads
Meats
And gourmet cheese
